Vista Ridge High School, Colorado Springs, CO
Date of Placement: Mar 09 2011The mission statement for Falcon School District 49 reads as follows: "To prepare students, in a safe and caring environment, to be successful, competent and productive citizens in a global society". This means that we must do everything possible as a District; to keep our students safe by providing them with the proper tools should an emergency situation arise.
In April 2010, the Transportation Department had a bus driver collapse from cardiac arrest. This has made the entire district aware of the importance of having the right tolls in the right place in case of an emergency situation.
Vista Ridge High School currently has one AED implemented onsite near the main school office so this additional unit will be located near the boys and girls Varsity locker rooms. The sports being played in the vicinity include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer, volleyball and wrestling. The ages of the athletes range from 14 to 19 and the spectators will be all ages. The numbers for both athletics and spectators vary depending upon the sports.
Kick Start My Heart received the $750 "Pay It Forward" donation from Vista Ridge High School in August 2010 and we implemented an AED in this facility in March 2011!
