Benjamin Franklin Elementary School, Pueblo CO
Date of Placement: Jan 10 2006Our first school AED placement! We thank the staff at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School for their $500 'Pay It Forward' donation, allowing us to continue our good work with other schools and organizations.
Below is feedback received from a former school board member regarding this donation and placement:
"I read with excitement the recent Publeo Chieftan article on the donation and training for the AED at Ben Franklin Elementary. I congratulate you for embracing the leading edge medical technology to benefit the children of Pueblo. As you know, this has been one of my passions for several years and was directly related to what I experienced with this equipment on United Airlines. Although there was a time when many believed no one would step forward and donate an AED to a District 60 school, I never doubted the commitment and perseverance of parents, teachers and community members once they received updated and documented data.
I understand there are now several more schools, teachers and parent groups interested in obtaining this vital safety equipment for their schools. I hope they pursue that passion and join Ben Franklin Elementary in setting the highest of standards in student safety by providing every student and employee in District 60 with this state of the art equipment.
I also extent my thank you to HeartSmart and Richard Perse, as well as Kick Start My Heart and Nigel Lock for their unwavering dedication in providing researched based data that allowed the administrators, parents and teachers of Ben Franklin Elementary to make this decision. I thank you again".
