Silver Partner Donation - The Bucci Invitational Golf Tournament

Kick Start My Heart recently received a generous $1,100 donation from John Bucci of the Bucci Invitational Golf Tournament, helping Kick Start My Heart place an AED at Fairmount Elementary School in Golden, CO.

John explains: "I started the tournament 32 years ago as a way of getting together once a year with high school and college friends. The first tournament was held August 13, 1978 at Willis Case Golf Course in Denver. Twenty golfers participated. Now the tournament is played each year at West Woods Golf Course in Arvada Colorado. Now I have 48 players participate each year.

Starting in 1993 we began using the tournament as a way to raise money for local charities. Some of the charities we have supported include: Children's Hospital, the
A.L.I.E. Foundation, Mount St. Vincent Orphanage, Colorado Red Cross, Columbine High School Healing Fund, Hospice Center at Lutheran Hospital, Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, and the Greatest Generations Foundation.

I chose to support the Kick Start My Heart program because of an article I read in last year's Rocky Mountain News. I specifically chose Fairmount Elementary School as the recipient of our $1,100 donation because I am a retired Jefferson County Teacher and Fairmont Elementary School is fairly close to where I live."
